Outgrowing their shop on South Keechi in Fairfield, Texas, Randy Mitchael, along with part owner Derek Mitchael, moved Fairfield Paint and Body to 1351 West Highway 84.
The new building is a 15,000 square foot facility with a definitely masculine flair. The waiting room is decorated with 50s automobile memorabilia, including a Route 66 sign.
It is a complete auto body repair shop with state of the art equipment.
50,000 BUT heaters keep the shop comfortable.
There are 12 bays for body work, and a bonus room with a floor to ceiling door to accommodate very large vehicles.
A completely enclosed metal room is used for painting with state of the art air ventilation systems that pull air up and out during the painting process to ensure the vehicle does not come in contact with any dust particles during the painting process.
A second paint area will be added at the first of next year.
A Sullair Shoptec Air Compressor in the shop is, according to Randy, the best you can buy. It never loses pressure and is energy efficient.
Currently, there are six employees, including Shop Manager Ryan Logsdon, and they expect to add two more in the near future.
Although Fairfield Paint and Body has only been around since February 2012, the business has saved a thick book of customer surveys with such statements as:
--Pleased with the estimate; it was below my expectation
--Thank you for having my car ready on Monday afternoon so I could have it for work on Tuesday.
They even have rental cars available, and all work is guaranteed for as long as the customer owns the vehicle.
This is another business venture in Fairfield belonging to Randy Mitchael. His first, Texas Cars and Trucks, has been providing folks in Freestone County with new and used vehicles for 12 years.
Randy Mitchael believes in support the kids in the community, having raised money for Girl Scouts twice to make improvements on the Scout House.
He has also bought numerous FFA and 4H animals during the Freestone County Fairs. In 2011, Texas Cars and Trucks purchased the Grand Champion Hog.
He has supported soccer, baseball, Little Dribbler, estimating that he has spent over $40,000 in the last 5 years.
Randy has been married to Sheila for 32 years. They have a son, Derek, who is part owner of Fairfield Paint and Body. Derek is married to Randi, a FISD teacher. They have two children: Madox, age 7, and Madyn, age 3.
The Mitchael’s daughter’s Rashonda, is married to Billie Hugh Bonner, III. Their 14-year-old son, Kyler is a freshman at Fairfield High School; 11-year-old Klay attends Fairfield Junior High; and Kalame, 8, is a student at Fairfield Elementary.
Fairfield Paint and Body is opened Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Stop by during their week long Grand Opening Celebration, November 25th – 29th, and register for over $1,000 in Prizes. On Friday, at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., they will draw the winners’ names. You don’t have to be present to win. At 1:00 p.m., there will be an official Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting.
