soccer_camp_older_drillsBritish Soccer Professionals taught young Freestone County athletes during a week-long soccer camp put on by Challenger Sports, in conjunction with Freestone County Soccer Association, during the week of June 18 - 22, 2012.

Challenger Sports has been in business since 1984 and is the most popular soccer camp in the USA. Located in the UK, the business sends a combination of roughly 1,000 soccer players and coaches from its professional and semi-pro European Premier Soccer League during their off-season.

This summer, Challenger will host more than 4,000 British Soccer Camps and coach more than 120,000 players between ages 3 and 18 years-of-age here in the USA.

This is the first year Challenger has conducted the camp in Fairfield, and 32 eager players turned up to learn and expand their soccer abilities.

Two coaches, George Williams and Dean Bagnall, led the camp. While in town, area families opened up their homes to host them. George was welcomed by the Waller family and Dean resided with the Simmons family.

The week prior to coming to Fairfield, the group held camp in Palestine and this week will be in Jacksonville.
